Questions

Practical answers, before you have to ask

Most of what people want to know at the start is logistical rather than clinical. If your question isn't below, ask — no question about therapy is too small.

Getting started

What happens during the first session?

Mostly talking and listening. You describe what brought you here; I ask questions to understand the shape of it and how long it's been going on. We also cover practicalities — confidentiality, fees, how often we'd meet. Nothing is diagnosed or decided on the spot, and you leave free to think about it.

Is therapy right for me?

You don't need a crisis to justify it. Feeling persistently stuck, low, anxious or unclear is reason enough. And if it turns out a different kind of support would serve you better — psychiatric input, a specialist service, something practical rather than psychological — I'll tell you and help you find it.

How do I choose the right service?

Pick whichever description sounds closest, or book a consultation and let us work it out together. Service labels are a starting point for the conversation, not a commitment — we can change direction after the first session.

Sessions & format

How long is a session?

Individual sessions run [50/60] minutes. Couple and family sessions are [60/75] minutes because more people need airtime. Child and teen sessions are [45/50] minutes. Consultations are [20/30] minutes.

Are sessions online or in person?

Online and in-person sessions are both available, at the same fee. Online sessions use a secure video link sent before the appointment; you'll need a private space and a stable connection. In-person sessions are at New Delhi.

How many sessions will I need?

Honestly, it isn't possible to say in advance, and a specific number quoted at the outset would be a guess dressed up as expertise. Weekly is common at first, easing to fortnightly or monthly. We review progress openly as we go, so you always know where things stand and can stop when it's right.

Privacy

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. What you share stays private, with the narrow exceptions professional ethics require — principally situations involving serious risk to you or to someone else. Those limits are explained in the first session, before you share anything, so none of it comes as a surprise later.

What information do you keep, and for how long?

Brief professional notes and the contact details needed to run the appointment, retained for [DATA RETENTION PERIOD] as professional standards require. The booking form deliberately doesn't ask for clinical detail. Full detail is in the privacy policy.

Children, teens & couples

Can I book for my child?

Yes. A parent or guardian books, consents, and usually joins part of the first session. From there, what a child or teenager shares is treated with age-appropriate confidentiality — we agree at the start what will and won't be relayed to you, because a young person who expects everything reported back tends not to say much.

Can couples attend together?

Yes — that's the usual format for couple counselling. Individual sessions alongside it are sometimes useful, and if so we'll be explicit about how information is handled between them. One partner attending alone to work on the relationship is also entirely valid.

Payment & changes

How does payment work?

Payment is taken at the time of booking through Razorpay, which supports cards, UPI, netbanking and wallets. Card details are entered on Razorpay's own secure checkout and never touch this website. Your appointment is confirmed once payment is verified.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Cancel or move a session with at least [NOTICE PERIOD] notice and there's no charge. Later than that, [LATE CANCELLATION TERMS] applies, because the slot can rarely be filled at short notice. Full terms are in the cancellation and refund policy.

Can I reschedule?

Yes. Reply to your confirmation email with the booking reference, or use the contact form, and we'll find another slot. Rescheduling within the notice period carries no fee.

Still have questions?

Write in with whatever's unresolved. You'll get a straight answer, and no follow-up pressure to book.
